Bodoni fonts were originally designed by a guy named Bodoni. Giabattista Bodoni to be exact. Every font design house seems to make a Bodoni of some kind. There are numerous siblings, third and fourth cousins, plus poor relations of doubtful parentage, cloaked under the protection of the Bodoni name, creating confusion and ultimately disenchantment.
