Symbols and Dingbats
When I started Fontage in 1995, I called these fonts Symbols. Some years later, I found that most designers and collectors called them Dingbats. The definition of Dingbat is "small worthless ornament." I won't argue that point about some of the fonts I've seen, ding or otherwise. But some of these fonts are very useful. So I'll keep the "Symbols" part of the name as well.

And some categories with both Letter Fonts and Dingbat Fonts
